Upper Eastside Townhouse - In Development

Strong lines and a clear material palette were the driving forces behind the design of this townhouse garden. In the back garden, the verticality of the Ipe fence and horizontality of the bluestone ground plane extend the boundaries of the garden creating the sense of expansiveness. A large L-shaped seatwall and raised plant bed punctuates the space acting as both a functional and visual element in the garden. Once completed, a glass catwalk will link the living room terrace with the back garden allowing for an uninterrupted flow between these two exterior spaces. In addition to the back garden, the site’s exterior spaces include a front yard, living room terrace, master bedroom terrace and two small terraces off the 4th floor. Again, as in the townhouse’s back garden, Ipe and bluestone are repeated to create continuity between all exterior spaces.
