Associate

Erin Moriarty received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Ethnobotany from Vassar College and a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from Cornell University where she placed in the National Low Impact Development Student Design Competition. Trained in the fields of anthropology, botany and landscape architecture, Erin brings a unique perspective to her work. Erin gained professional experience with Buford Davis + Associates, a landscape architecture and site planning firm based in Florida, before returning to New York City where she joined RKLA.

Prior to entering into the field of landscape architecture, Erin worked as an ethnobotanist with the Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing, New York. During her time at QBG, she conducted fieldwork and research among the diverse ethnic communities of Queens to build a body of knowledge about plants, landscape elements and associated traditions from around the world that evokes cultural connections and environmental responsibility. Her research informed public programming, horticultural exhibits and the Garden’s on-going master plan project. QBG’s new Visitor & Administration Building is the first newly constructed public building in New York City to earn a LEED Platinum certification.
