Washington County Farmhouse

Located in Washington County, NY, this farm project preserves the rural integrity of the site. Working with Mesick Cohen Wilson Baker Architects, the original 1860’s farmhouse was placed on a new foundation, and a barn (circa 1830) was relocated to the site to serve as a carriage house. New dry-laid stone retaining walls, stone patios, a 50-foot swimming pool, a family orchard, and a preserved stand of mature maple trees, all serve to integrate the farmhouse and barn structures within the site. Three old grain silo bases were repurposed as a fire pit and vegetable gardens. RKLA has also completed a city garden for this client’s unique Brooklyn residence - a 1900 Colonial Revival home in historic Prospect Park South.
